Be our resident expert on data protection law
The Civil Nuclear Constabulary (CNC) is an armed police service that’s dedicated to the nuclear industry. Our vision is to be recognised as a provider of a world-class service for the protection of nuclear material and facilities. Given the critical nature of our work, it’s vital that we recruit skilled and committed professionals to our high-performing team. A qualified Lawyer, you’ll ensure we meet data protection laws – a crucial responsibility.
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is set to come into force later this year. As a Lawyer within our Legal function, you’ll see that the CNC complies fully with its requirements. It’s an exciting opportunity to develop the CNC’s data protection governance – you’ll set and implement our strategy, while raising awareness of data protection compliance. Day to day, you’ll guide staff who deal with personal data, test compliance with risk-based audits and give advice on mitigating data protection risks. With the chance to provide broader legal support, you’ll have an integral role in our team.
To join us, you’ll need experience of data protection law, plus strong interpersonal skills. A point of contact for data protection, you’ll be working with Board-level figures, the supervisory authority and colleagues across CNC. You need to advise others, influence and express yourself articulately. A team worker who can meet deadlines, you’ll be confident and authoritative.
